# Original data on the back office

LedgerBPO publishes first-party bookkeeping industry data: the Outsourced Bookkeeping Cost Index and the AR Days Benchmark, built from anonymised engagement data across the US, UK, Canada and Australia, with the methodology, sample sizes and a downloadable CSV on each report. Until the owner approves the first dataset, each report page carries a sourced market synthesis and the method we will use.

## How the research is built

Each report starts from published third-party data: price lists and ranges from providers, salary surveys, payment-terms studies and regulator guidance, every figure cited inline with its date. The next edition adds an anonymised LedgerBPO engagement dataset, aggregated across client pods with a minimum cell size so no single client can be identified, covering close time in business days, days sales outstanding, transaction volume, hours per close and reconciliation exception rates.

Reports are versioned. The date at the top of each report is the collection cut-off, the CSV carries the same version, and superseded editions stay linked from the report so a citation made this year still resolves. Corrections follow the [corrections policy](https://ledgerbpo.com/corrections/). Everything is published under CC BY 4.0: quote it, chart it, link back to the report page.
